Foster parent visits

Alex with his foster mother and the baby she is currently caring for.
Our foster parent meetings were set to start at 2pm so we figured with a 12pm lunch, we'd have plenty of time to get back to SWS.  But it took a little longer than planned to get back and then Alex threw a snag into the plans by declaring that he had to go the bathroom.  Since he's four, his bladder control is greatly improved, but not wanting to push the limits, we devised a plan to have me take him to the bathroom at our transfer point, then Alex and I would catch the next train and run back to SWS.  It all worked out although I was still sweating a bit when I arrived at SWS - not exactly the impression I was going for.  But these are the fun little stories that we can tell later - and the ones that Alex will say, "Oh Dad, why do you tell that story, it's so embarrassing."

We met with Alex's foster mother first.  She is still fostering children for SWS and had a baby with her at the time.  A cute six month old that everyone took turns holding.  Dana declared that we should take him home and let the social worker know that we are indeed home study approved.  But the social worker smiled and said that he is eligible for international adoption.  Korea allows a family to have only 4 kids in the household, so no, we are not eligible.

Alex's foster mother gave him an adorable sweatshirt and pants outfit with a dog on the front that said, "I can't hear youuuuuu."  Quite appropriate for our four year old that thinks he knows best and loves dogs.  I guess you could call it foster mother's intuition.  Alex instantly fell in love with it and wanted to try it on right there.  So he did and he proudly wore it the rest of the day.

Cami's foster mother arrived next and both foster mothers stayed until it was time to leave at 3pm.  We had a nice time catching up and I think the foster mothers enjoyed seeing how the children they cared for as babies have grown.

After the foster mother visits, we went back to the guest house.  Cami wanted to ride the subway and go to an underground shopping mall.  She researched some options and we decided on Jamsil station which includes the Lotte Department store.  I wanted to get a peek at the new skyscraper that Lotte is building that will be over 1500 feet tall.  It's too bad that it's not done yet - I love looking at cities from high in the air.  The kids did some shopping and then we got some smoothies and bubble tea drinks at Lotte Department store before heading home for the night.
