The hot weather has definitely made it hard to have a garden this year. We couldn't keep up with the watering at our land, so most of our crops died. At home, between the heat and little voles, our garden has not produced what it had in the past. We did however harvest several large cucumbers yesterday. For our science experiments today (What can float), we made a cucumber boat and tried it out. Sure enough, it became the hit of the afternoon.
Science is over and play time with the cucumber boat continues. The kids brought out Lego people, small dolls, etc to ride in the boat. The perfect day where it is not too hot to be outside. The kids are excited to show Alex how to make a cucumber boat next summer. Although Ian is a little concerned that Alex might try to eat it.
